Pokhara is the most comfortable or popular destination to catch whether you are coming by flight or by road. Nepal has only one International Airport, so if you are coming from an international trip, you will land at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, there is an extensive list of domestic flights to reach Pokhara daily. Similarly, you can go to Pokhara by roadways exploring the grace of nature along the way.
By Domestic Flight (30 min):
Pokhara flights run every day from the domestic terminal of TIA, Kathmandu. It takes approx. Thirty minutes to reach Pokhara airport. It is the easiest and the most comfortable way. Similarly, if your seat is on the right side along with the window terminal, then you will get a fabulous view of hills and snow-capped mountain ranges.
By Road (6-7 Hours):
Road transportation comprises of four major categories: Private Jeep, Private Car, Tourist Bus, and Public Vehicles. The main advantage of road transportation is that you will get spectacular scenarios of hills, mountain glimpses, rivers, villages, isolated greeny areas, locals, etc.
The majority of private jeeps are comfortable and most reliable for travelers where you can explore the majestic beauty along the way.
They are well equipped and fully furnished with ac, which will make your road experience quite luxurious.
Most of the tourist bus leaves for Pokhara from Thamel, Kathmandu, from early morning. They are quite luxurious and full of AC and deluxe seats.
You can opt for public transportation to reach Pokhara, such as the bus, micro-bus, etc. The public bus heads to Pokhara from mainly Kalanki and Naya Bus Park (Gongabu). The timing is flexible, and pre-booking is also not required in many cases (except festival seasons).
