Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is an elementary, unique, and exciting trekking destination in the Annapurna region. Ghorepani is a native village in the Myagdi district in the Dhaulagiri zone within the Annapurna Conservation Area. Travelers require a particular national park permit to reach the conservation area, as it incorporates natural as well as the traditional inheritance.
Ghorepani Poon hill used to be the resting place where ancient traders used to find the water for their horses. The top natural slopes of Ghorepani Poon Hills (3210m/10531 ft) offers a majestic view of sunrise from the Himalayas. There are many small lodges and tea houses where mountain trekkers can spend a day out while passing through the trekking trails. Ghorepani Poon Hill links several other villages, Annapurna base camp, hidden territories, during the trekking trails.
Ways to reach Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
The poon hill trekking can be reached via south-east direction, reaching by foot with the up and down of Himalayan trails. In addition to this, Ghorepani Poon hill is achieved via the north-west route crossing the Himalayan site of Tatopani. Crossing Tatopani incorporates the traditional village of Shikha, Danda, and Chitre. Poon Hill trek includes some of the best snowy mountains of Nepal. Mountains like Gangapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, etc. are seen from the beautiful Ghorepani hills.
So, our Ghorepani Poon Hill trek starts from Pokhara to Tikhedhunga and head towards Ghorepani. From Ghorepani, the trekking path kicks off towards Tadapani to Ghandruk and back to Pokhara via Naya Pool.

Day 1: Drive to Nayapul (1,050 m/3,445 ft), and trekking to Tikhedhunga (1,530m/5,040 ft) (5 Hrs.)
We will meet you at your hotel in Pokhara, and after this, we drive towards Nayapul crossing the original tracks. So, from Nayapul, we will kick off our trek to Tikhedhunga or Ulleri Village. We will stay overnight at Tikhedhunga or Ulleri village,
Day 2: Trek to Ghorepani via Ulleri Village (2,850 Meters), (5-6 Hrs),
With an early morning breakfast, we will head towards Ghorepani for 5-6 Hours of up-down trekking. Along the trekking trails, we will encounter several mountain peaks, green hills, traditional villages, etc. We will stay overnight at Ghorepani for next days’ poon hill trek.
Day 3: Trek to Poonhill viewpoint (3,210 Meters /10,525 ft) and further trek to Tadhapani (2630 Meters), (4-5 Hrs),
From early morning, breakfast, we will continue our trekking for this day. We will encounter several Himalayan ranges, green hills, colorful forests, and hospitable locals. Ghorepani poon hill offers a majestic view of sunrise and glorious snowy mountains. Mountains like Gangapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Dhampus peak, Nilgiri Himal, etc. can be seen from poon hill trek.
So, with trekking of 4-5 hours, we will reach the top hills of Tadhapani (2630 Meters). Overnight stay at Tadhapani,
Day 4: Tadhapani to Ghandruk (1952 m), 9 km, 3-4 Hrs trek
Our Ghandruk trekking begins with an early morning breakfast and heading towards the rocky tracks. Trek to Ghandruk offers a spectacular view of mountains, traditional villages, Magar village, and more. So, with memorable trekking experience, we will stay overnight at Ghandruk for the next day’s return to Nayapool.
Day 5: Ghandruk to Nayapool trek (3-4 Hrs) – Drive to Pokhara (910 Meters/2986 ft),
We will trek back to Nayapool via Ghandruk, crossing the ascending and descending rocky foothills. Along the route, we will encounter several majestic natural settings, including mountains, hills, traditional communities, and lots more. So, after reaching Nayapool, we will head towards Pokhara on private transport.
After reaching Pokhara, we will guide you towards your hotel, which completes our Poonhill trekking.
