Ghandruk Trek in Pokhara

About this tour

  • Ghandruk Gurung village and museum
  • Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre
  • Landruk, Tolka and Pothana
  • Lodges with home-cooked dal bhat

Ghandruk is one of the most beautiful villages in the Annapurna foothills: slate-roofed stone houses stacked up the hillside, with Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre looking almost close enough to touch.

From Nayapul we walk up the Modi Khola valley to Ghandruk and then spend a whole day there, visiting the Gurung museum and wandering the village's old lanes. Next, we cross the valley to Landruk and Tolka, climb to Deurali and Pothana, and finish at Dhampus, before walking down to Phedi and driving back to Pokhara.

It's a moderate trek, with five to six hours of walking on most days, and a lovely way to get to know Gurung culture and food.
