About this tour
- Sunrise over the Annapurna range
- View of Phewa Lake and Pokhara
- Back in time for breakfast
- Private transport
For many people, sunrise from Sarangkot is the reason to come to Pokhara, and it's easy to see why. The hill rises to about 1,600 m on the north side of Phewa Lake, and from the viewpoint the Himalaya stretches right across the horizon: Dhaulagiri, the Annapurna massif, Machhapuchhre's fishtail summit and, on very clear days, Manaslu far to the east.
We pick you up while it's still dark, drive up the hill and walk the short last stretch to the viewpoint. Then comes the best part: waiting for the moment the snow turns pink, then gold, while Pokhara and the lake slowly appear out of the mist below.
You'll be back in Lakeside in time for breakfast, with the whole day ahead of you for a boat ride, the Peace Pagoda or a paragliding flight from the very same hill.

Questions about this tour
Will I definitely see the mountains?
We'd love to promise you a clear sky, but nobody can. Cloud can hide the peaks, especially from June to September. October to May gives you the best chance.
What should I wear?
It's chilly at dawn, even when the days are warm, so bring a warm layer and a hat.
