Mountains one day, jungle the next! From Pokhara, a tourist bus takes you down through the river valleys to Chitwan in five to six hours. Chitwan National Park is home to one-horned rhinos, deer, crocodiles, hundreds of bird species and, if you're very lucky, the elusive Bengal tiger.
When you arrive, you settle into your hotel, stroll down to the Rapti River for sunset and enjoy a Tharu cultural show in the evening. The next day is all about the park, with a naturalist guide: a canoe ride on the river, a jungle walk, some bird watching and a visit to the elephant breeding centre.
On day three, you travel on to Kathmandu or back to Pokhara, whichever suits your plans.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Pokhara to Chitwan
- Morning tourist bus to Chitwan (5–6 hours).
- A warm welcome at your hotel, then sunset by the Rapti River.
- Tharu cultural show and dinner.
Day 2 — Chitwan National Park
- A canoe ride on the river and a jungle walk with a naturalist guide.
- Bird watching and a visit to the elephant breeding centre.
- Dinner and overnight in Sauraha.
Day 3 — On to Kathmandu or back to Pokhara
- Breakfast, then a tourist bus to Kathmandu or Pokhara.
