Pokhara City Sightseeing Tour

If you only have one day to get to know Pokhara, this is the way to spend it. You'll have your own car and a local guide, so there's no haggling with taxi drivers or queuing for tickets, just plenty of time to enjoy each place.

We start at Davis Falls, where the Pardi Khola tumbles into a narrow chasm and simply vanishes underground. Just across the road, steps lead down into Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a Shiva shrine whose lower passage comes out right behind the falling water. Then it's on to the International Mountain Museum, which tells the story of the Himalaya and the people who climb it, from the early expeditions to the cultures of the high mountain valleys.

In the old part of town, Bindabasini Temple is one of Pokhara's most important Hindu shrines, and on a clear day its hilltop courtyard has lovely mountain views. We finish above the Seti River, where milky glacial water has carved a gorge so deep that you'll hear the river long before you see it.
