Mahendra Cave
A limestone cave full of stalactites and stalagmites in Batulechaur, north of the city.
Mahendra Cave lies in Batulechaur, about 10 km north of Lakeside, near the Kali Khola. It's one of the few limestone caves in Nepal with stalactites and stalagmites, and parts of it are lit for visitors. Bats roost in the darker corridors, so don't be surprised by the odd flutter!
The nearby Bat Cave (Chamere Gufa) is often visited at the same time. Bring a torch and shoes with a good grip.
